SWIFT III: Support Which Implements Fast Transition, 2008-2013
U.S. Agency for International Development

 

This contract is USAID's principle mechanism to support democracy and peace in countries undergoing significant and rapid political transition. Implemented by the agency’s Office of Transition Initiatives, the contract deploys grants and other assistance to local organizations to build civil society. Activities can include community-based reconstruction, media programming, conflict mitigation and peace initiatives, election assistance and monitoring, civil-military relations, judicial/human rights processes, reintegration of ex-combatants and displaced populations, transparency and good governance, and mine action programs.
